So, you're having a baby boy! Congratulations! I have two boys at home, and they are just amazing! It's so fun to watch them be silly together, love on each other, and grow into men of character.
One of the things that no one talked to me about when I was pregnant with our oldest son was circumcision. It seems to be a hot topic, but as a nurse, I am a woman of science. I have been on both sides of the fence on this issue, and tonight, as I was updating this website, I felt the need to offer potential clients more information on this important choice. I read this blog, and it has lots of factual, evidence-based links, it is in favor of keeping your baby boy "intact" as they say, or not having him circumcised. You can check it out here: http://birthwithoutfearblog.com/2011/11/27/the-circumcision-decision/ The other website that I found is completely unbiased in either direction. It's a great way to start to outline the reasons surrounding circumcision and intact penises, without involving emotions. Here's that link: http://thecircumcisiondecision.com/ Be sure to take a few minutes to research ANY decision involving your pregnancy, labor, delivery and baby, but especially one that is surgery. Make sure you know WHY you're consenting to any procedure. A few minutes of research is worlds better than a lifetime of regret.
