Look, I know you just gave birth, and showers aren't always so easily had. But even if you were able to soap up regularly, there's a weird thing called the post birth stank. And it's real!
No one really knows why or where this postpartum body odor comes from. Some say it's a normal event linked to your lochia, or postpartum bleeding and discharge. My personal (and non-scientific) theory is that it's a primate, biological way for baby to know which mama is his. Since babies can only see about 11" away, perhaps they rely on their sense of smell to connect with their mothers. Which is really pretty cool! So, what's a girl to do? 1. Consider switching to more natural products. They may work better with your body. 2. Do try to shower regularly, if nothing else but for a few minutes to yourself! 3. Wear natural fabric clothing. Cotton and other breathable fabrics allow better airflow to your pores.
